Environmental and Science Education
For Schools & Retreat Groups
The mission of Kirkmont Center’s Environmental
and Science Education Program is to provide a safe place where all people
can experience nature’s wonders. Our goal is to provide
educational programs for schools and retreat groups which
enhance personal appreciation of our natural world and promote
personal growth.
Located in north-central Ohio among the gently rolling
countryside of Logan County on 277 acres at the 2nd highest
point of elevation in the State, Kirkmont’s unique land parcel
is geologically diverse and contains wooded trails, shale
ravines, meadow and prairie lands, a natural fen, 2 ponds,
wetlands and a variety of native plants and wildlife.
Dedicated to making this rich resource a classroom in which to
grow and learn in all seasons, the Environmental and Science Education
Program offers many unique opportunities for youth and adults.
Kirkmont Center is dedicated to environmental stewardship. Many
of our classes for schools meet Ohio Science Standards.
Please contact Ms. Toni Cox, Kirkmont’s Environmental Education
Coordinator, to obtain a copy of our full Environmental
Education Brochure. If you’re a teacher or know one who might be
interested in Kirkmont’s Environmental Ed Program for your
school, Toni would be happy to discuss the wide range of
options.
